Corporate Clients seeking to provide employee benefits

This page is for employers who wish to set up a scheme for their employees so that those employees have access to counselling or therapy for a limited period at nil cost to the employee.

Businesses (mostly situated in the City and West End of London) can purchase a set number of "therapy hours" (a "therapy hour" is up to 50 minutes long) in advance for their staff. This is particularly popular with businesses that are "high stress", such as legal practices, accountants, bankers and city traders.

The employer purchases a set number of therapy hours (there is a minimum number of 10 that may be purchased).

  • A specific time/day is then reserved for that business for a set period of time, e.g. if 50 therapy hours are purchased, 1 -2 pm on (say) Mondays
  • That slot (i.e. 1 pm to 2 pm on Mondays for a sequential period of 50 weeks) from an agreed start date is then available members of staff.
  • The employee who attends may be the same person for all the 50 sessions or may be different members of staff. However, each member of staff must be entitled to attend a minimum of 10 sequential sessions on a weekly basis. That means that for the first 10 weeks employee "A" can attend then employee "B" can attend for the next 10 weeks.
  • If the employer feels that the benefit may be taken up by more than one employee at a time then the employer could purchase up to 4 blocks of 10 allocated on different days/times of the week. (e.g. 1-2 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for 10 weeks each). That would mean that employees A,B,C and D could attend for 10 weeks each over the same period of time.
  • Strict confidentiality applies and the only information given to the employer/business is that the individual has attended sessions.
  • Individual employees who become clients after having attended the session allocated to them under the employers scheme will then benefit from a 2.5 per cent reduction in fees for a further period of 12 months.

Payment by the employer is in advance but the start date can be delayed (although the time/day of the slot may be subject to alteration depending on slots that are available from time to time). The cost of the hours purchased is a standard £55 for each therapy hour purchased.

In addition to working with individual employees businesses can seek advice on how to reduce stress in the workplace for all of staff. The reduction of stress in the workplace is beneficial to all who are involved in the business; financially, creatively and by encouraging staff retention. After all, the greatest asset that most service businesses have is their staff. Fees for this consultation service are agreed prior to engagement.
