I am an NCPS accredited psychotherapist working in the United Kingdom, I work in accordance with the NCPS code of ethics. I provide one to one therapy online. Before becoming a psychotherapist I worked as a Solicitor in private practice in the City of London and so have personal experience of the particular stresses that result from working in City type organisations. Many of my clients work in high profile entertainment, the City or commercial organisations where they experience a conflict between work and private life.
I am an integrative therapist (i.e. not restricted to any one psychotherapeutic school). I believe that (ordinarily) the preferred approach is to analyse issues, understand the situation, identify and then implement appropriate solutions. My approach ensures that you will be listened to in a strictly confidential, secure, safe and non-judgemental setting.
My aim is to assist clients in enabling them to make informed decisions about issues they face, their life and their life journey, to choose and not feel “pushed” in any particular direction. I firmly believe that awareness of why and how we behave or make decisions enables us to have choices so that we are then able to take decisions and modify our behaviour in our best interests when it is appropriate for us to do so. In short "between the stimulus and the response there is a pause, and in that pause lies our power and our freedom." (Viktor Frankl)
My various qualifications enables me to work with clients in an innovative and creative fashion ensuring the approach taken is unique for each client. I work both with the conscious element of personality by assisting appropriate behavioural changes and with the unconscious so that reasons for feelings, thoughts and behaviours may be understood and change or growth attained. Some of the issues that I work with are listed in the issues section but include depression and both generalised anxiety and specific anxiety.
